Standards for prosecutors: Ukraine introduces new rules to protect business

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin signed an order approving the standards of prosecutors' activities in the field of investment protection, an important step in increasing trust in justice and business protection. This new initiative is aimed at reducing the pressure on subjects of economic activity.

Kostin announced the signing of the order during a meeting with leading business associations and the Business Ombudsman Council, pointing out the importance of these standards to improve procedural guidance in business-related cases.

These standards, developed together with the business community, aim to ensure transparency and honesty in the interaction between prosecutors and subjects of the economic sphere. They determine the procedures that must be followed during the pre-trial investigation, in particular, in the conduct of searches and other investigative actions.

The signed order formalizes the mandatory nature of these standards, which have been in effect for the past month. According to Kostin, this will ensure the accountability of prosecutors for compliance or violation of these norms, which will be reflected in their professional evaluation and career growth opportunities.

An important step in the implementation of these standards is also their inclusion in the criminal and constitutional legislation. This will allow them to have legal force not only for prosecutors, but also for other law enforcement agencies, which will contribute to stability in the country's legal system.
